Chip McDonald
Pintech because I can get a good deal on them... Which Pintech trigger works best for kick? I see they have a vertical/upright one, a reverse trigger like the old Rolands, and a vertical one with a pad, which is the most expensive. Which one works the best? I will not be using it live, and I'm mostly a heel-down player. Has anyone tried one of their cymbal triggers for HH? How resilient is the surface compared to a hard rubber pad? If Jonathan Karow is lurking about (if you're still with Pintech... I think you're back in town now?) send me an email if you've got any of these I could try out... thanks... vintagevibe
On thing I really like about the mesh pads (like the expensive Pintech kick) it the silence. With the Roland reversed pedal I have now I hear a really obnoxious thud along with the sounds. Same goes for the other drums. The only problem with mesh heads are that I can't seem to do a good buzz roll on one. I'd keep my rubber pads for that but buzz rolls are not called for very often in my recordings.
