Brakka
Wow- great question. You might try looking for an audio sample of a set to find the pitches. Here\'s one (scroll down for movie) There's a lot of cool stuff at that site.
Brakka
I saw you say that you are putting thins project off, but I'm still curious. The LP's in my link are something like E F? A C D. I Googled every combination I could think of, but couldn't find a mention of standard orchestral temple block pitches. For that matter, I couldn't find a "standard" set of temple blocks. There are dozens of different sizes. The ones that my high school's concert band were exactly the same as my college's orchestra (IIRC), and did look similar to the set in your link. The reason I posted here again was to ask how you were going to make them. Do you have writen plans? Has someone already done a temple blocks diary? Were you going to split your boards and make small boxes with a slit? Any woodblocks you end up making will be cool.
Prague
Anybody remember the old Maxwell House coffee commercial? It was played on the blocks (temple, I guess). In my early grade school concert bands we figured out how to play it. The full set was set up like a one-octave marimba, which means it was tuned like a piano.
