anyone tried Direct Sound's Extreme Isolation EX-29 headphones ?

I guess its these or the GK super/ultra phones.

 

I pretty much just want isolation phones to play

along with CD's.

 

To those who have any of these phones, is 29db

isolation to much to hear the kit over the CD

without micing it ?

 

Also..the sound quality is an issue to me.

So far most phones (studio/DJ) i've tried sound

terrible..small,distant, muddy and dull.

 

How do these rate ?

I haven't tried the headphones that you mentioned, however I do have a recommendation of my own. If you're looking for something to play to CD's with or do any recording, try the Vic Firth Stereo Isolation headphones. They reduce sound by 24db, and also give a round, full sound, so you can hear your drums and the music. good luck.
