Sonor Designer, Tama Starclassic or ...?

As I previously posted before(to know which Bass Drum size would be better) I am going to buy a drumset for my studio.

I mainly record Metal and Rock bands.

Do you have any experience with this drumsets or do you advise any another one.

Here in Portugal is difficult (not to say impossible) to try drums, that's why I am asking.

Thanks again.

for heavy metal you may want to consider 22" or 24" bass drums so you get a little more volume and punch, BUT...

i play the sonor maple designer drums-- a 20" bass drum-- and the tone is DEEP, TIGHT, and SOLID. to me a person can get all the necessary "power" out of a well played and well tuned 20" bd. don't need to go bigger (unless you're going for "show," which may be a consideration with heavy metal!).

the tone of my sonors is beautiful and tuning the drums is E-Z. the only thing i don't like is that the drums are overengineered in my estimation, but that's VERY minor. i also like dw for tone and build, but truthfully, most drums are SO good these days that it really comes down to what "fits" the sound you hear for yourself.
