blairl
I would like to hear from everyone on your philosophies and methodologies on tuning drums for recording. Ank links to articles would be helpful as well as other threads covering this topic. Thanks!
k1neta
Well, of course the definite resource on this would be Prof. Sound's (who in fact occasionally posts here) drum tuning bible. Read that at least a couple of times, and experiment a bit - and you should have great sounding drums in no (or fairly little...) time. alphajerk
anyone use those tension watches? do they actually make it easier to get the drum tweaked out? alphajerk FATcompilation "if god is truly just, i tremble for the fate of my country" -thomas jefferson
C_F_H_13
I use that new evans tension tuner thingy. The big thing with that particular Key, is that it helps get the head seated properly on the shell, and even tension all the way around the shell. It won't tune your drums good if you just set it to say "6" and tune every lug on the drum to that, but it will give you a good starting point for your tuning.
