I have Sabian 14" hats myself, never tried the Pastie cymbals. I would imagine that they sound good.

Cymbals break due to flaws or when you exceed the design strength. If the cymbal breaks go to a heaver cymbal, Zs. They say to use Pastie for crashes, Sabian for hats and Zs for rides. That is how my setup is. Of course that is only an opinion, and the drummer needs to feel comfortable with the choice.

I wanted to ge a set of 14" Zs for the hats for a change in sound.

Pastie cymbals are a bit on the light side, so you need to choose the right cymbal for the style of music that you are playing. Sometiome the tone will get lost once out of the sweet spot of the cymbal design.

My 2 cents worth.

My fade-out.......
