Gaddabout
(double posted at Bart's Drummer Cafe) Anyone there this weekend? I had to turn down a pass due to work. Drats. Guys like me don't get offered to go very often. Here are some things I've heard about so far: - Yamaha introduces oak into their selection of wood shells. Descriptions of its sound have been mixed so far, although many people are fascinated by a drum that could match their living room furniture. =) I suspect oak won't be all that different than birch, but hopefully it will be a little cheaper. Also introduced some new finishes for the beechwood kit. Can't wait to see those. I like beechwood. - DW introduces a titanium BD pedal for their ? anniversary. Heard they were making 500 singles and 500 doubles. Otherwise, doesn't sound like a very newsworthy NAMM. I think the summer NAMM is probably the one where everyone unveils the truly cool stuff. BTW, Bart, based on your reccomendation, a buddy of mine is supposed to be bringing home a Schlagewerk cajon for me to check out. After checking out their website, I can't wait to sit on it!
