Chad Thorne
Do Jazz basses (other than MIM) have string-thru-body construction? Does this affect tone substantially? If so I want to do my project bass that way. Thanks!

saxofunk
I converted a bass to string-through a couple years. ago. It was a fun project and it made some difference in the E and A strings - just a bit of tone and maybe an enhancement of the mythical beast sustain. I wouldn't say it was drastic - it's not the holy grail of sound altering modifications. But it was fun, and now I have one of few (if not the only) string-through Toby Deluxe basses on the planet. - Matt W.
