Well, I was checking the gibson site recently and I noticed that they've introduced some new models...after a long time spent stagnating

check it.

A bit tobias looking, no?

Can't say this one was my cup of tea, in any way, whatsoever. ;)

Now as a HUGE cream fan, this particular model caught my eye. As nice as those import epi's maybe, that paddleheah epi headstock just looks so out of place.

Now, whya re they callin that last one an "sg reissue".....hmmm :freak:

Hiram Bullock thinks I like the band volume too soft (but he plays guitar). Joe Sample thinks I like it way too loud (but he plays piano). -Marcus Miller

Note the vvt setup on that "sg reisuue" bass, the basslines pickups and electronics on the continental v bass, and the traditional looking bridge and vvt setup on that les paul dc bass.

Certainly Tobias inspired, but lacking the form that makes Tobias instruments beautiful. Namely, the smile and halo.

definitely looks interesting. Turns out they've madew some new guitar models as wel, such as a signature pete townshend #1 les paul deluxe, a neil schon les paul, and studio firebird models.

Maybe sometime in the very, very, very distant future I'll cave in and by the "sg reissue" bass.

sorry 'bout this, but i think it's still somehow related to this topic.

i think this: http://www.deanguitars.com/sledge_hammer_5.htm

looks very familiar, and i think musicfiend would agree, especially with the body. but i also believe that warwick streamers were heavily influenced by spectors, IMHO.

cool new models from Gibson.

It's definitely a rip off of a thumb bass. Tehre are also some verster models that are even more closely ripped from the warwick camp. Early on I believe warwick bought the rights to the steinberger design used in the streamer.

I'd say it's related to the topic.

Right now I'm thinking about doing some things to an old gibson in poor condition. Or maybe even doing a project. Of course I don't have any money to spend, but hey we can always dream can't we?

I'm thinking about a downsized reverse t bird body in pelham blue with a black pickguard, 70's tbird pickup in the bridge position, and a darkstar in the neck position.Ebony board, mahogany body and neck. Yup, I wish this stuff were free.
