wraub
Hello kiddies, once again the Continental shall play host to the ludicrous-speed shenanigans of the rockin' combo with which I make many, many 16th notes. The date- Wed., Jun 1. The Continental, in lovely, aromatic downtown NYC. We hit at 8:15. Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here. Dr. Willie thanks for the support, and Congrats on your illustriously numbered post. Although I am not sure you used it as wisely as possible. Three times? The Fonz
wow. wraub always manages to show me that he's the bass player we all want to be: smooth, solid, and manages to play impressive licks without being flashy. once again, well done man. as for the band, it sounds like motorheads stand-up act. Eeeeeehhhhhhhhh.
_Sweet Willie_
Killer set. This band is truly fun to see. The drummer is a machine and his girlfriend was entertainingly extroverted. The singer/guitarist got his sneer on while delivering some seriously amusing lyrics. wraub laid it down. That Ibanez sounded hot. And the band got a good mix -- fo' real, yo. Great to hang w/ Ace, getz, and wraub. The band that followed had too much gear and listened to too much Soundgarden while writing their material. They were also way too loud, driving us out into the street to talk. Funny thing was, none of them were playing black instruments. Peace. --s-uu spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! musicfiend
I dunno, as much as I want to believe blacker is louder, my silver aguilar is pretty loud..and I bet getz' tangerine jazz is a pretty ear ripping mofo with plenty of boot lickin mojo...but then again... Hiram Bullock thinks I like the band volume too soft (but he plays guitar). Joe Sample thinks I like it way too loud (but he plays piano). -Marcus Miller
musicfiend
So, obviouslt the rock was brought...but wat about the fish? Hiram Bullock thinks I like the band volume too soft (but he plays guitar). getz out
Nice hang indeed. William and his friend (Evan?), Erik and his better half, my drummer Todd and crazy band-chick Debbie. Now that's a party. Wraub, well played. I describe the music (once again) as Black Flag featuring Adam Sandler on a handful of pills. That's a compliment, by the way. I really did enjoy the set. wraub
Taken as a compliment, Maury. Actually a description I can live with. Thanks to all for coming out, and having some fun. I played as well as I could considering the food poisoning. My right hand was so cramped up that I had to use a pick on some songs I normally don't, which was interesting. Yes, my drummer is a machine. It's hard not to play well with him around. Ben, sorry we missed you. My serious thanks to all of the above for their kind words. E-Too kind, as always. I will endeavor to live up all of your praise. Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here.
Tom Capasso
Sorry I couldn't join you. Given the thread you started on the "Band" forum, I was curious as to your choice of attire. Will any of the attendees be posting photos? And what about the FoL - did it make an appearance? Tom www.stoneflyrocks.com Acoustic Color Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. _Sweet Willie_
No FoL. I didn't have my $#!& together to bring it with me to work. Another time. I don't think any pics were taken. The night will live on in infamy in our precious memories. Peace. --SW spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk. wraub
Tom, Jason- Sorry as well that we missed you there, although, Jason, it was 21+. Next time, I'll try to skate you in with the band. Tom, I did in fact wear something more "appropriate" this time. At least I was dressed. Probably for the best there were no pics, as I was not at my freshest, but I did miss the FOL. Will, we still have to meet up on that tip. Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here.
