bc_dup1
I no longer have the full Finale program but still use the cheaper freeware version. I just wondered what other Lowdowners do when transcribing ghost notes. The obvious thing to do seems to be to write the note as normal and then mark with some text (an x or whatever) to indicate it is a ghost note, but it's fussy, not very satisfactory and of course the playback sounds all wrong. I always make sure to notate the ghost note on whatever open string is being plucked to play the ghost. I have an old version of Finale, but there should be a tool that looks like a note with an "x" for a head which will allow you to replace the notehead with any one of a dozen different shapes. bc_dup1
Thanks - I need to look at this. I'm not sure if it would be available on the freebie version I use (which is enough for most of what I use it for - I took the full version off my machine because I was having problems with my PC and thought it might be contributing to them.)
