One million to problem solver...

Okay maybe not a million but I'm desperate and I will really appreciate any help here.

Long story short, I have a nemesis nc200 that I took in for repairs and after listening to this guy I have spent $200 and my amp is in worse condition that when I took it to him. Some of you probably remember me. The amp would play for a while, get hot and cut out and maybe back on in a few minutes.

Had the upgrade done which adds a heat sink and a few other things. Didn't work so we replaced the mosfets. Now I cant even play out of the speaker at all because it sounds like Im running lightning through it. A loud sparky type of sound. Sounds okay when I turn it all the way down but that kind of defeats the purpose.

After waiting two months total I finally said I have to come and pick up my amp; since I live in an apartment and use the headphone out more that the speaker. In the phones it sounds great but through the speaker like crap.

I am upside down in this amp and I figured maybe somebody has had this problem before or know someone in Dallas that I dont that can actually fix it. If not maybe some rec's on a new quality combo. I am so frustrated with this whole situation...Im supposed to be enjoying my new bass.

Anyway----THANKS

You know, I just posted a customer service story about US Music (Eden's parent company). Have you tried to get some help from them? Call and ask for Mike Beede in customer service. He'll be able to direct you to the right person. Be sure to explain the efforts you went through to fix it.

"For instance" is not proof.

I've definetly seen some washburns and eden stuff (at least I think it was new and not used) at GC from time to time.

ooo, good story: Washburn is owned by the same people, US Music, as Eden. The reason GC no longer carries Eden products (at least the one in Rockville, MD) is because Washburn was making basses overseas and calling them American made. When Washburn and Eden were both acquired by US Music, they wouldn't compensate GC and its customers for the problems of Washburn, thereby forcing GC to boycott US Music altogether.

I'll admit I am not an expert, but that is what multiple people at the Rockville GC have told me.

This is not true, at least not on a corporate level. The GC's in Chicago all carry Randall, as does Musicians Friend, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of GC. All GC's carry Parker, too, and they are owned my US Music.

I think they took a pass on Washburn due to price point saturation.

Yeah- they were a repair center that Eden used time and time again but, when US Music took over they had a lot of slips they never got paid on. US music told them that they just were not going to pay the debts and that was that, according to him. I have talked to Mike a couple of times; he sent me the upgrade kit that all of the other rep's said that there is absolutely no way they could do it.

I don't know what happened overnight but he called them and told them all he had done and I guess they told him some stuff to do as he called me this morning asking me to bring it back down and he could fix it while I waited.

Anyway I will let you guys know what happens.

Another update....As far as the bass goes I am excelling at a very quick rate. I took my first lesson and the teacher showed me how to hold my hands, what to do and what not to, and told me I wouldnt need him anymore because of the ear I have. He said I wouldn't need him and would waste our time and money.

Amazingly I can put a tune on and play it by the end of the song. Maybe not all of the licks but its a pretty good trade off. It seems like every time I pick up the guitar I am a LOT better than I was the time before when sometimes you are only a little to no better from time to time. Knowing how to play keys has made this a whole lot easier. I somehow see what I hear when I listen to a song. I am still working on the theory of it all for if you start talking circle of fifths and jazz I'm somewhat lost.

He fixed it in five minutes, I played for hours, my fingers hurt and now I can rest. It was a long hard wait but it sounds ssoooooo good.
