bubba upright
Howdy LDer's!! I've always had a string breakage problem (on electric bass,) due mostly to my hard plucking style. I know that it's largely a technique issue, I have great control with my left hand, but I can't help but REALLY dig in when the groove is just right. So I saw these "string-saver" saddles at the store and I'm wondering if anybody here uses them to prevent string breakage. Do they really work?? Just wanted to poll before spending $30. on them. Thanks Bubba "Study, study, study...or BONK BONK bad kids!"

bspangleyahoo.com
Bubba, I have the piezo loaded graphtech saddles. I cannot vouch on whether they prevent strings from breaking. I do think, however, that they made the "electric" sound more focused. I installed them on an elcheapo SX fretless p-bass clone and it was wearing TI Jazz Flatwounds. They definitely improved the sound of this bass.
