I'm going to be "Bat Boy" pit boy.

I got talked into being in the pit band for a local summer production of "Bat Boy". The pay-per-service ain't great, but it is alot of guarantied dates. The last time I was in the "pits" (so to speak) was for a production of "Smokey Joe's Cafe". It was a blast to play. I'm not familiar with "Bat Boy" at all; have any of you played it and, if so, what were your impressions of the show?

I Never played in a pit. I had friend in college who played the bass in a UCONN production of Jesus Christ Superstar. I think It will be a great experience and a great gig for you.

I did Anything Goes in February. It was fun, if not very diverse, but the cut time reading is always a challenge. Have fun it sounds like a cool gig.

I've never done "Bat Boy", but I am doing "West Side Story" for the next 7 weeks. Theater gigs can be a blast. And if you are single, the fringe benefits can be outstanding

I did West Side Story many years ago. I seem to remember that it was a difficult book!! (Shifting times sig's, locking on the conductor who was trying to lock on the dancers, unfriendly key signatures, etc, etc.)
