BigKahuna855
i saw the following quote in another thread When playing URB, your plucking hand is more parallel to the strings than perpindicular, as when playing electric. Also, pluck "through" the string you're playing until your finger is stopped by the next string down this is how i play electric fingerstyle, so what is the traditional fingerstyle for electric?? ClarkW
Not saying I'm a perfect specimen of technique, but this thread has two pictures to give you the general idea: http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=007946#000000
jeremy c
Yeah, those are good pictures. Playing upright your fingers are more parallel to the strings and the fingertips are pointing at the bridge. You are playing with the side of your fingers. On electric your fingers are perpendicular to the strings and your fingertips are pointing across the bass. You are playing with your fingertips. In both cases I guess you could say that your fingers are pointing toward the floor....but of course the strings are pointing in different directions on the two instruments. Free download of my cd!.
