Has anybody ever tried or owned a Washburn XB920 or XB925?

never played any washburns. Heard they aren't too bad though. They look like they would play good.

I own a Washburn XB925 and it's my main bass. I've been very happy with it. Mine has a bubinga top, which makes the tone a little bit darker. Zebrawood is another option on the XB925, and that might be a little brighter. My bass is very solid. The neck joint is comfortable to play around and the fit between the body and neck is nice and tight. The Bartolini pickups have a balanced sound with adequate output. I've never had any problems with the bass.

I will say that my bass in my hands can sound very dark. I use both a GK combo amp and an Ampeg 410 half stack with my two bands. My Washburn sounds great through the GK or both amps together, but it can sound a little muddy when played only through the Ampeg. Still, I've been able to get good sounds out of the Washburn while playing any style from classic rock to pop-punk and new metal.

Although I personally dislike washburn (I am a strcit fender guy). I have heard good things from a friend about one. I don't know the exact model but it was a neckthru. He told that it was comfortable and has a good tone variability. He was in love with her. But I think "you" should try. Also the other brands may do good for you.

(I should get used to looking at the titles. I really don't know whether it was a 920 or 925

oops my signature dropped
