European basses

_Sweet Willie_

Recommended Posts

Hey y'all,

Of recent, some of my procrastination web surfing has taken me to visit some European electric bass builders. There are three sites in particular that I've been enjoying:

Frudua Guitars (Yes, I know, I probably post this link every couple of months -- but I really like the website and the basses! ) -- Scrumptious Italian instruments (i.e., bassi deliciosi).

Overwater Basses -- Yummy English instruments from Chris May and colleagues.

Celinder Bass Guitars -- Tasty Danish instruments (NOT tasty cheese or apple danishes! ).

Anyway, anyone have any comments about these instruments/instrument makers? Anyone have some other builders who interest or intrigue them from Europe (or elsewhere -- and I'm not really talking about Czech Spectors)?

Peace.

Hey Willie, get me one of those Frudua MK II things. Very nice!!

Celinders have a great reputation but interest me less since they are in the Fender tradition.

How about www.seibass.com ?

If you're talking about the Fruduas, you are totally on target. (I haven't checked out the builders on DW Bass' list yet.)

You wanna see a fretless that is potentially out of this world? I mean one really wicked instrument. (Unfortunately my opinion is based solely on the pics and website description, not on the actual experience of having laid hands upon it. ) -- The Real Bass -- one real bad mutha of a fretless!

This one is in Jeremy's color. Jeremy, looking for another blue bass? Oh, and don't tell me when your birthday is.

I'll put in another recommendation for www.seibass.com - these are seriously the finest made instruments I've ever come across - the attention to detail is incredible, the range of options is huge, and I've never played on that sounded less than wonderful (And I've played A LOT of Sei basses! :) )

I'll be getting a headless 6 at some point...

Next to Modulus, these are my fave basses I've ever played.

cheers

I'll be 48 on September 8th. I'm really partial to the natural wood bass...but I liked the Zebra striped bass also.

I've owned their 6 string fretless for over a year & they are absolutly amazing. The best I've ever played.

Those are nice! I like more traditionally shaped instruments though! Definitely looks like they put a lot of time and effort into those designs!

Alright since all the September birthday have made comments. I guess I will too. Mine is September 11. I would so love just about any boutique bass. Smiths, Kinals, Seis, Roscoes, Stambaughs, Dingwalls gladly accepted ;)

I've got a load of tasty bass images on my bass guitar site at www.bassporn.o-f.com . Dont worry, its all perfectly benign.

I just wanted to make a site to contain all the images I collected while searching for inspiration for a graphite necked custom jazz John Diggins (www.jaydeeguitars.com)is making for me (pictures of the bass under construction to be taken by John himself and added later). Spec includes sausage quilted maple top with mouthwatering modulus-inspired red over blue iridescent tint, EMG Jv's, Aguilar OBP-3 preamp and wilkinson bridge!

Oh, and I wanted a place to rant as well.

If you've got any images to add, I'm happy to stick them on the site.

We apologise for the lack of inspiration, your attention is important to us. In the meantime we continue with a fascinating array of dots.....................

Welcome to the forum, Crazykiwi.

Nice website. My tongue was hanging out.

Although I got a lot of popups to go with the website.

A Kiwi who lists his address as the UK and China! Wow, one person makes this a multi-national forum.

Feel free to put the picture of my Mike Lull bass on my website onto your picture page.
