A.P. Non-Prod.
If you head over to UglyBassPlayer's forum a beginner on bass just got her Vigier bass and has a topic started My New Baby about her new beauty. I didn't see anything on the site about "onboard computer". But I do find the 10/90 neck system, the phenowood fingerboard, the delta metal fretless fingerboard, and the use of a zero fret all interesting. Definitely pro instruments 2 g's and up I think that it is annoying that they put the name on the body of the bass. groucho
Aww, I got used to that with my Kubicki Maybe they did that to keep scmucks from refinishing the headstock and adding their own bogus "custom" name tag ( I used to work for a shop that did this to Kubicki necks - always thought it was stupid - always made sure the customer knew who made the neck. Knew another so -called "pro shop" that did it with Ibanez basses) the "onboard computer" (Jon Camp's words) is the "ROM memory system" which seems to hold pre made tone parameters Whatever that amounts to! Thanks for the info! if it ain't broke don't fix it... unless you need the overtime.
fantasticsound
Vigier has been using those features on their guitars for at least 15 years, but I have yet to see one in the U.S. Hell, I didn't even see them at summer NAMM in several years of attendance. I've lusted to handle and play one of their instruments since that time, but until recently, I was unaware they were still in business. They advertised in GP a few times in the mid-late 1980's, then seemed to disappear. I guess they gave up on selling mass quantities of their instruments in the U.S. I have no idea why, though. Anyone know if they have any U.S. distributor or dealers? It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
