davebrownbass
Which is my point...when I first studied chord terminology I would have called that a "minor 6" chord, not "minor sixth." Minor sixth would refer to the a flat in the cm6 example. Now, I had an old fuddy-dud teaching me this persnickedy terminology, and I admit, I've lapsed into the more common usage. But if you say the chord exactly as written: Cm6 would be "C minor Six," just as you would say E Ma7 and so on. "Let's raise the level of this conversation" -- Jeremy Cohen, in the Picasso Thread. fantasticsound
I have to add my voice to the chorus of votes for the opening chord of "A Hard Day's Night", but I'm quite surprised no one has suggested the C major piano chord that ends "A Day In The Life". It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
amcka
no one said the capo'd D at the beginning of Free Fallin'... but maybe that's included in the post that was talking about the D and the pinky thing. And yes I can hear Hard Day's Night too "...I'm working fast food now... but, hey, at least it's better than my last job."
