Fred W Posted November 5, 2002 Share Posted November 5, 2002 To all the bassists in the New York area: Can anyone suggest jam sessions in the Manhattan or in the larger metro area? It's Monday nite - I often go the the Lenox Lounge. I've been to St. Nick's Pub and Smoke. I wondered if there are some sessions I don't know about? I mainly go for jazz (UB) but I dig pop, rock & blues (BG). Monday is the traditional jam nite - but I'd like to hear about other nites too. By the way I was out of town 11/2. BenLoy Posted November 7, 2002 Share Posted November 7, 2002 There used to be a great and scary rock/fusion/funk/kitchen sink jam down at the Triad Lounge down on 72nd Street on Mondays...but I don't know if it's still there, I haven't been there in a while. Also, the Hot Pants Funk Sextet at Smoke (108th and Broadway) on Wednesday nights SMOKES!!! There's a lot of sitting in going on there as well.
