patrick_dont_fret
Yes, I've heard some people have trouble with nickel. I don't personally, thankfully. Several manufacturers make stainless steel strings that should contain no nickel. There might be some that have nickel cores, and steel wraps, but I usually just go with solid nickel strings. You can also use the acoustic phosphor/bronze strings, but I don't know how they'd sound on electric...interesting enough to find out, though. Just ask the friendly representative at your friendly neighborhood music center. Hope this helps in any way.

patrick_dont_fret
Ooh, you play a fretless. Are you playing flats or rounds? I think most flats are steel anywho, but I may be wrong. The set of Markley's that I put on it one time were steels, but I've since reverted to the ole rounds on my fretless. It's just got this weep to it since I pulled the frets myself, so there is this weird overtone thing going on. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Anywho, once I get the technology, I'll post a sound-bit of it up here and let you guys listen a while.
jeremy c
I had the same kind of problem with nickel-wrapped strings. It should be easy enough to find stainless steel strings, every company makes them. I'm using DR's now. Free download of my cd!.
Mike H.
My wife has an allergy to metals. She has to wear real gold/silver/platinum jewelry. D'Addario make a string called Prisms. They are a solid stainless steel string wrap and core. Give them a shot or email them about the nicel content. www.daddario.com http://www.identity5.net

patrick_dont_fret
Yeah dude, love to have your input on stuff...the first little while is mostly just getting acquainted with what's goin on, but after a while you get in the groove (pun intended) of this thing, and start giving answers instead of asking questions...but any questions are welcome. cornbread_medhotmail.com
Welcome aboard, bro! Good to have you with us. Take a look around and stay awhile. You may want to try some stainless steel halfrounds or groundrounds for your fretless if you don't like the flatwounds.
