anim Posted June 27, 2001 Share Posted June 27, 2001 I'd like to put DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups in my Mexican Jazz Bass. To avoid routing, I thought that the dp147 neck pickup might fit in the bridge position. The neck and bridge pickups are the same size on the MIM bass. Will this work electrically and mechanically? I am thinking that they will have to flipped around so that the coils are oriented correctly. Any ideas? michael Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Posted June 27, 2001 Share Posted June 27, 2001 i just put a DP149 set in my mexican bass over the weekend. the neck rout, due to being hidden under the pickguard, fits the larger pickup, and the smaller fits in the bridge rout. of course, i'm now playing without my pickguard... but my bass sounds better than ever! because i like people.
