The pickups in it are EMG actives and, agreeing with most of the opinions of EMG active pickups in the other pickup thread, I think the sound is way to hi-fi and hard, especially for a fretless. What are some passive humbucking pickups (I'm assuming that's what I need) that will give me that really nice, warm, "mwah" sound with this bass? ~clockwirk~ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ben Posted May 5, 2001 Share Posted May 5, 2001 Well, I was sticking up for EMGs in the other thread, but I do understand that some folks don't like them. For me, cost was part of the equation, too. If that were not the case, I would have taken the following advice: Get out your checkbook, take a deep breath, and spend as much on Bartolinis as you can afford.
