Chip McDonald
Actually, I'm not sure - I'm trying to confirm the story. The Japan gaffe he made where he forgot about WWII and devalued the yen the next day was on Reuters, but I can't find anything about this. Anyone see that? As another aside... DID YOU KNOW BUSH AND CO. HAD ARRANGED FOR A "SHADOW GOVERNMENT" DURING THE 911 SITUATION? Even though the lines of command are already in place??? How about this little bit I just read: WAR BOSS SORRY FOR HIS 'VIETNAM' GAFFE Associated Press -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- March 5, 2002 -- WASHINGTON - U.S. war commander Gen. Tommy Franks opened a briefing yesterday by speaking of the U.S. soldiers killed over the past three days in an assault on Taliban and al Qaeda fighters - but he mixed up his conflicts. "First, let me say that our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and the friends of the service members who have lost their lives in our ongoing operations in Vietnam," he said. ------------------------------------------------ The world is getting too surreal.... DeluxeReverb
DID YOU KNOW BUSH AND CO. HAD ARRANGED FOR A "SHADOW GOVERNMENT" DURING THE 911 SITUATION? Even though the lines of command are already in place???
Uhmmm, yeah...didn't you? Here's a portion of a BBC article that'll catch you up on a 50-year old idea: "Friday, 1 March, 2002, 12:13 GMT Washington sets up shadow government Contingency plan was originated by Bush's predecessors An emergency parallel government has been set up in the United States to try to ensure that federal rule could continue in the event of a catastrophic attack on Washington, US officials say. The operation was activated after the 11 September attacks but planning dates back to the Cold War era. It is reported to involve 70 or more officials drawn from all departments, depending on the perceived level of threat. Those taking part live and work underground for long spells at secret fortified locations on the East Coast. The core group of federal managers would put into effect orders from the president or his constitutional successor ...". So why the ALL CAPS panic attack? You'll have to try harder than that... ;) BTW, anybody got video of Clinton grabbing for the crotch of a stewardess? Oh, that's right....I do - in my secret VRWC files. :)

surfjunkie
I read where Bush was in the front row and excitedly WAVED AT WONDER as he walked on stage...
i've seen enough people make that mistake that i forgive them. i don't know if Stevie does or not, but surely he hears about it, and i bet he laughs. :) when Steely Dan won their recent grammy, Stevie presented it. Donald Fagan shook Stevie's hand, then started his speech. Stevie waited for a moment, then put his hand down. when Becker offered his hand, Stevie didn't see it. lasted maybe 5 seconds. i think there was a post here about it, because i remember saying- Stevie transcends blindness.
