CEB
I'm suppose to learn a Tune called California Dreamin' by Tupac. I am familiar with California Love. I guess they share some of the same motifs. California Love is a F to Gm loop. Anyone hear of California Dreamin' and know what the basic loop progression is. Only California Dreaming I know is the Mamas and the Pappas. Thanks "It doesn't have to be difficult to be cool" - Mitch Towne "A great musician can bring tears to your eyes!!! zxcvbnm098
There is no California Dreaming by him. They must mean California Love..his biggest most mainstream hit. Featuring the late, great Roger Troutman!
CEB
I think I found something. I have no idea what this is. Maybe it is some sort of post mortem mashup. I can't believe these ding dongs want me to learn this as opposed to the real mainstream Hit. [video:youtube] Well I'm prepared to go in and play California Love. If I guessed wrong and learned the wrong tune I won't be too disappointed if they fire me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkQz10_nepg "It doesn't have to be difficult to be cool" - Mitch Towne "A great musician can bring tears to your eyes!!! Bill H.
Sounds like California Love over a loop closely resembling Dre and Snoop's Nuthin But A G Thang - another classic 90s hip-hop track. With 4700 views in four years. They've gotta mean California Love.

MAJUSCULE
If they're confusing Pac and the Mamas and the Papas... I'm not sure if I want to hear that performance, sorry Ed! (I'm sure you'll nail it, though. That lead is gonna wail.) Eric Website Gear page
CEB
I set it up as a triple split on the Kronos. Piano synth layer in the left to play the chord groove, the vocoder patch in the center and a lead patch on the right. This is primarily a 90s through current 4 piece rock band. It does not sound quite like the original but it turned out better than I expected. The hardest part is learning the words for the vocoder part.
