When patrons break your gear - a long post

If it's a King Super 20 and it's only ~$200 worth of damage that's not much. On the other hand, the horn potentially will never be the same, and it's not as though you can go buy another one easily, in which case it doesn't matter if it's $20 damage or $2000.

I have a Mark VI tenor that I reserve for concert band and classical gigs. I bought a Yamaha '52 Tenor and Alto that I use for club gigs. If either gets damaged, I can get another. Super 20 is a desirable horn (I started out on a King 615 about 100 years ago and have a sentimental spot for old Kings). Sorry this happened.
