Project Bass "Frankie" update

"Frankie" is not a new bass. It was the first "Frankenstein" bass I ever attempted. I've done a bunch since and with each one you learn a little something. I wanted to go back and revisit this one for a "facelift". Foremost among the new things is the neck with block inlays, "C" shape, antique finish and spankin' new headstock decal. I went the extra step on this one of taking it to a real luthier when I Was done and have him do some "finalizing" tweaks. It plays and sounds every bit as good as she looks.

Body - Squier Vintage Modified Fretless ("Jaco" bass).

Pickups - Lindy Fralin single coil vintage

Tuners - Mighty Mite

@jcadmus: The body is originally from a Squier VM fretless.

I chose the body not only for the color & wood but also because it has no pick guard and never did. I really like the way the Jazz Basses look without any pick guard.

Looks good! Still, I admit I'm not a big fan of the no pickguard look though. But that's just me. Also, a little concerned with the Fender logo on a not genuine Fender bass. No biggie though as long as you don't try to sell it as a Fender.

I apologize for my bluntness. It's still a great looking bass and I bet it sounds killer with that Fender Rig behind it!

Lydian mode? The only mode I know has the words "pie ala" in front of it.
