jcadmus
Better than I remember them being. Mel was a big influence for me. "Tours widely in the southwestern tip of Kentucky"
picker
I have an mp3 of "Got This Thing On The Move" I play every so often. Man, their tone is awful. Mels bass is, for lack of a better word, sludgey, and Mark's guitar is just nasty sounding. The drums sound okay, and the vocal are out where you can hear them, and the parts Mel & Mark play are neat, but the tone is just horrible. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
BargeOn
The first band to play Shea after the Beatles. Not a bad footnote on your epitaph. A better than average garage band with good promotion.
jcadmus
I just always kind of liked them because the critics hated them -- sort of a proto-Stillwater from "Almost Famous." "Tours widely in the southwestern tip of Kentucky"
b5pilot
Cool! I always did like that song. Such a cool bassline. I always did like a lot of what I heard from Grand Funk. Flint Michigan's finest! (gratuitous Michigan plug ) Mel Used to be one of my favorites. I admit their tone wasn't always good live but I thought the recordings sounded good. Lydian mode? The only mode I know has the words "pie ala" in front of it. http://www.myspace.com/theeldoradosband
