Nicklab
I never thought I would see the day that Fender offered a 6 string bass. Oh my stars and garters!!! EddiePlaysBass
Now I've seen it all  I have discovered that I have little use for a 6-string myself, but this baby looks really, really nice. And hey, 24 frets "I'm a work in progress." Micky Barnes The Ross Brown Shirt World Tour
jeremy c
Hmm, isn't that now the third brand of 6 string bass that has had Steve Bailey's name on it? There was the Aria Pro II Steve Bailey Bass and also the custom Ibanez one that he played for a while. http://www.stevebaileybass.com/pics/misc/IMG_8568.jpg More power to Steve. He's a great player. saxofunk
It just doesn't look right. Maybe that's why so many of the custom shops that make 6+ers make the bodies so radically un-Fenderish. - Matt W.

b5pilot
Looks great! Now if I could only play like him.... Lydian mode? The only mode I know has the words "pie ala" in front of it. http://www.myspace.com/theeldoradosband
rizzo9247
Steve actually played a prototype of that very bass back at Bass Player Live 07 during a clinic. Very nice.
davio
It seems awkward, yet still smooth. I think I like it.
Catlin
I really dig that, it's nice to see Fender giving players the option of a 6 string now. I am sure the local shop will never get one in, but getting my hands on one of them is high on my list of things to do before I die ha. Is the body size standard to that of a 4 or 5 jazz bass? That Ibanez in Jeremy's pic is great looking too!
davio
catman, the body sizes generally get a little larger with each additional string. My Fender 5 is bigger and heavier than a Fender 4.
Switch hitter
me wanna touchy! Nice bass, though its most likely gonna be well out of my price range. Any news on the price of it?
Seamy ALB
I'd like to try one of them bad boys out!! http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Little-Bitter/185235472447
getz out
I like Fender's other-other six string better. I should have bought one before they skyrocketed in price.

That Ibanez in Jeremy's pic is great looking too! It's probably larger than a 4, which is to be expected. The wider the neck is, the heavier it will get. The body needs a little more mass to balance out against the increased weight of the neck. And Maury...I totally agree. I tried out a Bass VI when they were selling for $800. But the Custom Shop got their hands on that one, and the price skyrocketed. getz out
Totally, Nick. I remember coming really close; instead, I bought a bass I eventually sold. I think I would likely still have the Fender Bass VI if I had purchased it.

chip6
Don't know why they didn't do it before. It's those little pegs that always bothered me on fender 5's (no, I'm not always happy with my Carvin's small winders, I never feel like I can get the E and B just right in tune), but I'm sure weight starts to be an issue. Sixes are not for everybody, but I love them. No reaching for notes while I'm also reaching for a vocal harmony.
