Jonathan Herrera
Hello everybody... Just wanted to let y'all know I'm doing an Oz Noy gig tomorrow (10/15) at Boom Boom Room in San Francisco. I'll also be in the opening band w/ guitarist Jude Gold and drummer John Mader. With Oz it'll be me, Oz, and Deszon Claiborne. Anyway, come! Say hi! The music starts at 9:30 and we'll hit w/ Oz about 11... Thanks.
_Sweet Willie_
Isn't Jude an editor as well? Maybe of GP Mag? Is it possible to define the style of music of the opening band? Loves me some Oz Noy. Enjoy the gig, Jonathan. Nice that you get to join Oz on stage yet again. Peace. --SW spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk.
Jonathan Herrera
Yeah, Jude is an Associate Editor at GP; he mostly handles all the instructional content. He's also one the best guitar players I know. We play together in several bands, including Miguel Migs' band Petalpusher and with a fantastic singer-songwriter, Cathy Richardson who now sings with Starship and Big Brother & the Holding Company... Anyway, Jude's music is aggressive, melodic guitar showcase type stuff. He plays baritone on a lot of it, and he does this crazy slap thing. Other than Regi Wooten, he's the other cat I'm aware of that truly kills with his thumb on guitar.
jeremy c
And Jonathan gets to play with two of the best drummers in the Bay Area, Deszon Claiborne and John Mader, both of whom are also very nice guys. Free download of my cd!.
Wally Malone
Was Jude the guitarist on the BX3 tour? Wally I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!
Jonathan Herrera
Yes he was...and so was the drummer were playing with, John Mader. Mader also plays with Booker T. and Bernie Worrell, among many others. Come out! Good musicians and a good Bay Area music-scene hang...
Wally Malone
When I caught BX3 I really enjoyed Jude's playing. My wife and I talked to him after the show and on top of his playing was a really nice guy as well. Wally I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!
