tonight - first gig with new drummer

Ross Brown

Recommended Posts

New drumer start for real tonight. 2 rehearsals and we are ready to go... I hope. He is good. Doesn't like to end songs, which is better than the last guy that ended in the middle.

Our past gig (with sub drummers) had lots of naked "ladies"... Boobs and butts. Turns out you can make a lot of money auctioning off a chance to smear cake on a naked body. They made a ton of money for the fund raiser (help pay the medical bills of a cancer patient). Strange, strange gig... a fight broke out during the cancer patients thank you speech... That was particularly classy.

This all occured on a Sunday afternoon... Wonder what tonight will bring....

Oh well. Glad to have drummer issue solved. Maybe it will lead to better gigs... (although we do have fun now...) :freak:

Just Kidding!!

Wife was taking picts (cause my son was playing). She left before the fun or I know I would have them for you. I'll tell her to stay longer next time if it looks promising...

Good luck with the new drummer. Naked ladies. Isn't that one of the reasons we're in bands? I know it makes my day! :thu:

Yeah, too bad there isn't any pics but then they would probably have to be censored. Darn!

Lydian mode? The only mode I know has the words "pie ala" in front of it.

I've always found the first gig with a new drummer goes pretty good. They seem to be more attentive with both their ears & eyes and don't overplay. It's usually when they think they know everything that they miss cues and overplay. Just from my experiences.

I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!
