Anderton Posted August 4, 2001 Share Posted August 4, 2001 One major difference is that the US-428 is also an audio interface with mic inputs, outputs, digital I/O, and the like. Houston is solely a controller, and assumes you already have an audio interface to handle the audio tasks. By not having to pump audio down the USB line, Houston has more bandwidth available for controllers. To summarize, I would say Houston is designed to be a no-compromise controller for hardcore Cubase fans, while the US-428 is designed to be a more universal device that combines parameter control with an audio interface.
