Salvador
I am "facelifting" one of my basses, and in the process I bought an EMG HZ pickup to replace the old one. Since it's only one pickup, the wiring is easy to do ( the pickup brings wiring instructions, so easy even I can do it!). Anyway, when I finished soldering, I noticed that the pots are working COUNTERCLOCKWISE, instead of clockwise.....I used 500K pots instead of 250... Could that be? I don't mind having the pots this way(it's actually kind of cool), but I want to know, just for learning's sake.....
The Pot
Using a differn't Ohm pot shouldn't do that. Check your wiring. "Music is the space between the notes." -Claude Debussy
WCriley
You have the wires reversed. Easy to fix.
Big Daddy from Motown
reverse the wires on the two outside poles of the pot the center wire is ok.
Luke73
Correct - just swap the outside poles of the pot around, and it will work the way you expected it too. Not that it makes a practical difference, just that the volume sweep is reversed. ...and The Pot is correct - the resistance of the pots will not make a difference in this (it will adjust your tonal range slightly though). http://www.myspace.com/twoshortrocks

thanny XIII
Backwards knobs.... HMMMM that could actually be pretty fun. It would mess with anyone who tried to use your bass without permission. I knew a girl that was into biamping,I sure do miss her.-ButcherNburn
