OT: Borat

Maybe I'm just adding a new axis to the bell curve, but I did find one scene both oddly touching and hilarious...when Borat's in the grocery store with the clerk, pointing to bag after bag after bag of cheese, and saying, "and this...this is cheese?" To which the clerk patiently responded "yes." Then on we go to the next bag, again and again and again.

 

Honestly, I was in awe of both the clerk's patience and Sasha Cohen's capacity to keep a straight face; it was a real contest between gentleness and satire, and in that scene alone, both managed to win. I thought the clerk deserved a presidential medal for kindness to strangers and village idiots, should one exist. Plus, I was rolling on the floor, it was so funny.

I thought it was simultaneously stupid and brilliant. Stupid in a good way though - I can't really explain that, but it's not meant in a negative sense in any way.

 

what you are referring to, is known as 'beavis and butthead' style.

this was on the special features, so a lot of people who've seen the movie, haven't seen this bit, which in my opinion, is the BEST bit of the entire thing.
