audiofreek Posted July 23, 2003 Share Posted July 23, 2003 Interesting note;a female Black Bear can have,brown cubs and black ones.All brown bears we see here in British Columbia,are infact Black Bears,as the Alaskan Brown Bear does not travel this far south.We've got Grizzlies though. The Salmon run is starting in our area,so they will soon be a common site on the rivers around here.The old timers always say you can never trust a Black Bear,they are more unpredictable than Grizzlies.Also,Grizzlies can't climb trees,but Black Bears can,so there is no escape. What an honor to see them! I was very honored to have a fox converse with me for a while from about 10 feet away, and then move his whole family in.
