jeremy c Posted December 18, 2007 Share Posted December 18, 2007 Well, last week Chick Corea did some shows in Oakland, CA with a reunion of the Electrik Band with original members Dave Weckl, Frank Gambale, and Eric Marienthal. Victor Wooten played bass instead of the original bassist, John Patitucci. I think a few of my students went: I'm still waiting to hear how Vic sounded with that band. The week before, he played in San Francisco with flutist Hubert Laws, bassist Eddie Gomez, and drummer-percussionist Airto Moreira. Nothing surprises me anymore in the realm of band reunions. Wally Malone Posted December 18, 2007 Share Posted December 18, 2007 This reunion has a thread on Talk Bass for a few weeks now. I saw RTF in a small club in Santa Cruz shortly after the release of "No Mystery". I had a great seat up front and really enjoyed the concert. I wouldn't mind seeing them together again. I may have to pull out the old cassette of that album and give it a listen. Wally I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!
