Bored with playing so I ordered a Dot On Shaft Guitar

Hmm original post is messed up so will try this again!

I was getting bored with playing lately. So when that happens, I usually try and buy some new gear. Luckily I do not get bored often :).

I currently have all Carvin Guitars so decided to branch out and do something different. So I ordered a Mellitus from Dot On Shaft Guitars. Should be here on Tuesday.

Well ya can't go wrong with Carvin for quality, playability and price but this DOT looks sweet. Never heard of them. Gotta check em out. Let us know when she arrives and give us a report.

What can this strange device be?

When I touch it, it gives forth a sound

It's got wires that vibrate, and give music

What can this thing be that I found?

Looks like another Canadian company. Give us a full review when it comes in. And remember, this kind of post is no good without Audio/Video clips.!

Great looking guitars, but in the website I found a disclaimer stating that Dot on Shaft is the Canadian distributor for an Indonesian luthier. That might explain the pricing.
Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!

A Hamer? I would say both are takes from a Gibson DC.

As for distibutors, I think what it boils down to is Mike designs all the instruments and has them built to his specs. I read somewhere where they looked at several manufacturers to build them. I am not really worried about where it is built as long as it is a solid instrument. It is funny though, we guitarist think that if it is not built in the usa, it is not as good. Yet ask us about a $24k-$1,000,000+ car investment and we say Honda, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes or an Enzo Ferrari. I do not believe the usa hype personally. Gibsons quality has been going down yet the prices go up. I have a Carvin Cobalt C850 Acoustic that is remakable. It is not made in California like the other Carvin's. It is just built to their specs.

I will let you guys know how it is. From some reviews on Harmony Central, All were pretty much 9-10 scores so I think I will like it.

Oh those Carparelli's are sweet!

did it get delivered yet? tell me how it is when you get it cuz i was thinkin about one of the custom peavey's from www.peaveycustomshop.com but this could change my mind. especially since the peavey costs $2,800 and this is exactly the same thing for just $700. Also i like the neck on the dot on shaft...that thing is clean.

I have to get it tomorrow. Post office was closed by the time I found the delivery notice :(

did some research. they had one line that they brought in from Indonesia that carried the Marlique Guitar name. It did not carry the DOS name on them.

I guess they are opening a custom shop next year. After doing some searches on youtube, I am rather anxious now. Found a cool video of a guy showing the unveiling of his new caparelli. This is the other model I want to get.

Take back my statement. I thought this might be another Godin coming up. But then it might be even better.

I've had a couple of Korean made guitars that I would put up against anything U.S. made.
