Rampdog
REVIEW THIS: http://www.12bar.de/slide.php Great site Ellwood... I've been using a stub glass slide on my pinky and it allows me to also finger the fretboard as well... I just wish I had an extra guitar to use strictly for slide but till then I've been using my Strat in standard tuning... I'm getting the tone and feel and vibrato down a bit better now... Thanks again for the site... If it ain't fun...why do it...? http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=778394&content=music
Dr. Ellwood
No problem Ramp! I only do slide in standard tuning, and don't set the guitar up any differently than normal, you just need to develop a light touch and you will be fine with it. Yeah that's a pretty well done site for guys starting out in slide I thought. http://www.thestringnetwork.com

Zuben
Ellwod, You have to be close to my age. You probably learned the same wayI did. No one told me there were other tunings for slide. I would sit for hours backing up records and trying to find a solution for each slide run. It was worth it later. Now, because my playing calls for it, I have a guitar set up just for slide withalternate tuning. I still play slide on standard but some songs just don't work. That was a great page. I wish we had this (Internet) resourse when we were puppies. But then again, there is something about learning it from scratch on your own.
