been busy for the last month, with another car my old ford Taunus (yes taunus not taurus)his engine was dying.

and couldnt get me to replace thatengine and a lot of other problems, like a bad interior, did decide me to buy something else.(try to find another good interior for a classic car is almost impossible).

here he is :

yes another ford, a capri 1600 GT, whith a 2 liter 4 cil engine mounted in it which delivers almost 100 hp, which is a lot for a car that weighs less than 1000 kilo.

100 hp is peanuts for you americans i know.

a real european muscle car, man i'm happy, the fuel economy is not that bad either about 25 miles to the gallon.

after driving for almost 15 years in various taunussen this takes some getting use to.

the taunus:

the taunus has a way better chassis i discovered, a more modern car and i still like the looks maybe i keep it and start restaurating it now.

have to get used to the hp available the taunus his engine was almost dead and had no power left at all, so now in the capri i already drifted away a few times at the trafficlights :D .(by accident)

don't hesitate to post your rides.

Aaaah Wietse....lovely, lovely stuff.I had 4 Capri's,all manual transmissions, when I was young ......my first 4 cars. Two were 1600 GT's with Webers on them, and worked motors. One was a 2000 V4 and my all time bitchinest car was my 3000 GT with a specially built Windsor motor. This thing had a high lift cam, high comp pistons and a flow through exhaust...it was specially built for my Dad by Ford as he had purchased several fleets from them for his reps...it was called a VIP build at that time.

Well I got that car eventually. The power to weight ratio was phenomenal. I used to drag big nasty V8's and just kill them off the line. While they were trying to find traction I was gone, chirping the tires at every shift.Of course they might catch me once they got going and all that torque took over, but I loved seeing them poop when I just shot off like a rocket.

I have an oft recurring dream about finding that car again in a junk yard and working on it to get it going again.

Thanks for the pic, it has been a while since I have thought of that ride.....you bring back sweet memories for me.
