Dr. Ellwood
Where are you staying exactly? near Hollywood or suburbs? When I'm there I always stay out in Valencia and drive into Burbank, on the way in I go right past that Six Flags amusement park. http://www.thestringnetwork.com

I'll be staying a bit Northeast of the city between Monrovia and Arcadia - about five miles from a Carvin store in Azusa. I'll be visiting customers and dealers all over the area. haywire
There's a nice Guitar Center about i mile south on the same street. Life is two periods of play interupted by 40 years of work.
PBBPaul
We have Guitar Centers here. Anything special this one? I'd like to make it over to Corona and Fender if I can. Anything else I should look for? Our new and improved website Today's sample tune: Lonesome One

The GC in Hollywood has The Vintage Store in the back....worth checking out even if a lot (70s stuff in particular) is overpriced crap! The 50s guitars are worthy. We have an incredible vintage store in LaCrosse, WI - Dave's Guitar Shop. Check out his inventory for some drool-worthy guitars. Even more amazing is Dave's personal collection on the 2nd floor. Check these out! Our new and improved website Today's sample tune: Lonesome One
Phil W
Close to where you'll be: deKarr Music in Pasadena http://www.dekarrmusic.com/ is a nice friendly little store. They have a great free gig schedule at the Levitt Pavillion in Pasadena. http://www.levittpavilionpasadena.org I was staying in an area very close to Monrovia/Arcadia/Azusa this summmer. Great Chinese food too if you head down to the Chinese neighbourhoods e.g. Monterey Park. LA Music Academy is worth a visit (call them first!) http://www.lamusicacademy.com/ http://philwbass.com

Durockrolly
Hey PBBPaul; I live in Duarte, the town right next to Monrovia. I'm not sure about my schedule, but if you need any info. I've been around here for nearly 50 years. Fernando. Fernando If you can't say it in 12 bars... then it can't be said!
PBBPaul
Hey Fernando, thank you. It's beginning to look like I will have plenty to do. If something falls through however, is there a decent Blues bar nearby? Our new and improved website Today's sample tune: Lonesome One
Durockrolly
Depending on the days you will be here...there is a nice blues club in Arcadia, a blues jam night on thursday in Whittier (this band is pretty good), also a jam night in Duarte on Thursday nights and a jam night in Monrovia on Sunday nights. Also, it looks like I am going to have some spare time (the wife looks for any excuse to get rid of me) if you would like to have a beer.
