I would love to have Myles go over my '62 Ampeg! Unfortunately, time won't be that plentiful.

Hmmm... 24. My wife would be jealous - she's a huge fan.

Thanks ellwood!

Where are you staying exactly? near Hollywood or suburbs? When I'm there I always stay out in Valencia and drive into Burbank, on the way in I go right past that Six Flags amusement park.

I'll be staying a bit Northeast of the city between Monrovia and Arcadia - about five miles from a Carvin store in Azusa. I'll be visiting customers and dealers all over the area.

Anything else I should look for?

The GC in Hollywood has The Vintage Store in the back....worth checking out even if a lot (70s stuff in particular) is overpriced crap! :D

The 50s guitars are worthy.

Forget all that guitar stuff and go surfing.

We have an incredible vintage store in LaCrosse, WI - Dave's Guitar Shop. Check out his inventory for some drool-worthy guitars. Even more amazing is Dave's personal collection on the 2nd floor. Check these out!

Close to where you'll be:

deKarr Music in Pasadena

http://www.dekarrmusic.com/

is a nice friendly little store.

They have a great free gig schedule at the Levitt Pavillion in Pasadena.

I was staying in an area very close to Monrovia/Arcadia/Azusa this summmer. Great Chinese food too if you head down to the Chinese neighbourhoods e.g. Monterey Park.

LA Music Academy is worth a visit (call them first!)

If you're planning on going to Fender, I think you'd better call. A friend of mine just went, and it was by appointment.

Depending on the days you will be here...there is a nice blues club in Arcadia, a blues jam night on thursday in Whittier (this band is pretty good), also a jam night in Duarte on Thursday nights and a jam night in Monrovia on Sunday nights. Also, it looks like I am going to have some spare time (the wife looks for any excuse to get rid of me) if you would like to have a beer.

Fernando

If you can't say it in 12 bars... then it can't be said!
