    I refer it to an "overdriven filter" as one that has too hot a signal sent through it causing distortion. There is also some resonance happening there as well. The SID filter seems to be easily overloaded which I think is a good thing. It has it's own sound. I've been happy with just about anything I've run through it.

    Interesting concept... clean as a whistle, minimalist recording. I'm drawn into the story like the lurid rubberneckers after a crash on I-4 outside of Lakeland, their National Enquirers fluttering to the floor of the pickup, their gun racks and spit cans rattling with their sudden motion to see, their few remaining synapses struggling to produce sufficient wattage to crane their chickenlike necks beyond the steering wheel...

    That lofi piano sound was a modified patch (I think it was Wurly Piano) in my JP 8000 run mono through my SID Station's filter then into Pro Tools. The SID's filter can be extremely harsh (which I like) and loves to be overdriven. Thanks for listening!

    What a killer group!

     

     

    Hi all. I'm Michael Oster (33, but still a kid). I'm married to a wonderful and understanding lady named Cindy. I run a studio in Tampa, Florida called F7 Sound and Vision. I specialize in the production of unique sounds, some 1800 of which I have released in CD-ROM format for royalty-free production use. Concept:FX (shameless plug) is the name of that library.     I've been in contact with StevieB. He does some very cool stuff with a minimal amount of gear! He downloaded some free samples I have on my web site and turned them into a real cool song called "Chain Letter Massacare".     I checked out your music. Really cool stuff! I wasn't scared either. Actually, I do similar stuff with sound design and manipulaiton of "found sounds". Excellent. Keep up the great work!

    "That usually does a pretty decent job of scaring people off... but occasionally someone will drop by (who isn't afraid) and often they actually enjoy the stuff enough to wanna come back again in the future.
