I refer it to an "overdriven filter" as one that has too hot a signal sent through it causing distortion. There is also some resonance happening there as well. The SID filter seems to be easily overloaded which I think is a good thing. It has it's own sound. I've been happy with just about anything I've run through it. d-kay, That lofi piano sound was a modified patch (I think it was Wurly Piano) in my JP 8000 run mono through my SID Station's filter then into Pro Tools.
