Last night I was plinking around on the guitar, playing some minor chords for no apparent reason.  I played E minor, with two fingers holding down the fourth and fifth strings at the second fret.  I decided to move my fingers to the third and fourth strings at the second fret, strummed the chord and thought that sounded pretty good.  I then said out loud "What the Hell did I just play?"  Going sixth to first strings, I'm playing E A E A B E.  I had no idea what chord that could be, so I went  to chorderator.com, clicked on chord designer, and I discovered that I was playing an E suspended fourth chord.  I have been playing the guitar since 1980, and I have never ever played that chord before in all those years.  And what's really nice is that it will work if you're playing in the keys of A, A minor, C, D, E, G, and probably a few other keys.

So, if you're stuck in a rut, and you're tired of playing the same old things over and over, try a chord position in a different place on the neck, or move one or two fingers to the next string, or something like that, and listen to it.  If it sounds good Safe Mover near me Illinois, write it down so you don't forget it.  And if it sounds like crap, try something else.  But don't ever quit trying to learn or create something new.

I am planning to move from the West Coast to the Northeast in March, and my only major concern is getting my gear there safely. We are getting a Upack trailer and my plan was to pack all of my guitars and amps as if I were shipping them, bubble wrapped and in boxes. I figured it was fine, but my girl put the seed of doubt in my mind. So I was wondering if anybody had recent success moving their gear across country and what they used to do it?

I went to a seminar on Hemp CBD oils (which are now fully legal in the USA) So I bought an $80+ little bottle of hemp oil (this one) www.hemplucid.com/collections/all/products/mct/?attribute_pa_strength=500mg from the lady who was teaching the seminar. I learned a bunch about CBD's from her and began taking 4 drops of the oil daily. I have to say that the use of CBD oil has sharpened my brain up a bunch, and it totally eliminated my finger bone joint problems from guitar practice, and mitigated the other arthritic joint problems to minor irritation instead of sharp pains. Of course I bought the next dose on line for about 20 bucks less as indicated on the link above. The bottle is only a small bottle but I have been taking 6 drops of it daily for about 2 months and I still have half a bottle of the first bottle left. I also learned that just because it is CBD it is not necessarily the best option here Bestcannabisbrands.net, so going to the seminar I learned the difference in how the CBD was extracted from the hemp plant and the CO2 extraction is the best (she said) which the bottle above is done in that way.

The one thing she taught me was that our bodies have natural cannabinoid receptors because we as humans have always ingested the hemp and marijuana plants as a matter of course. It has only been since the 1930's or so that it has been outlawed in the USA and other developed countries, and our bodies are starved for that kind of intake. At first for the first week or so, the CBD oil acted like a slight dose of speed until my body got used to it. So I do take my dose early but it no longer has that speedy effect on me.

Hi, so I'm going through a patch of anxiety and general poor sleeping. I've tried various things however I've yet to try CBD oil. I know its unregulated and there are thousands of products on Amazon. I'm hesitant to buy anything straightaway off it as the reviews can be suspicious (paid reviews, reviews after trying only once etc.). Has anyone tried CBD oil and would you recommend it? What brands would you recommend?

Perhaps inspired by all of the “best of 2023” segments I’ve seen lately…

Was there a keyboard you found to be truly special? One that stood out from the others, one that had some extra “mojo” or “special sauce.” Doesn’t matter if piano, organ, synth.

I’ve played Steinway concert grands and a couple of glorious B-3s, but there was a Fender Rhodes Stage 73 Mark I the keyboard player in my dad’s band had that was incredible. Wonderful tone, action felt like butter, fantastic FTE connection, perfect amount of bark when needed. I don’t consider myself to be a bona fide Rhodes player, but everything that could potentially make a Rhodes great came together with that axe.

What’s the first keyboard that pops into your head fixing logitech keyboard issues?

P.S. I actually ran into the aforementioned keyboard player a while back and asked him what ever became of that Rhodes and he said he sold it. 🙁

Hey, Today I got super clumpy and spilled soy sauce on my keyboard. Not only I tried cleaning it, it still smells like soy sauce and the "E", "R", "S" , "4", "5", "f5" and "f6" keys all have an orange glow due to the pigment of the soy sauce. The lit-up keyboard is usually lit up with a white color but the keys listed are orange color. Does anyone know what to do?

I've got the standard problem of an old worn out body. Worn out shoulders and arthritic knees. Doctor says I should have knee replacement on my right knee, when last I went in. I say BS as I still get around albeit with some pain. Been using turmeric for years for my shoulder, with success, so I do think alternative substances can work. Anyway, I'm seeking opinions on CBD oil for body pain. Is it worth trying? I know a puff of ganja can definitely relax ones body, but I want to be able to function and drive around during the day and don't want the head trip. If so, what dose and form works for you?

As many videos as the gentleman Dave Spuria also known as The Real Music Observer has done about or regarding gossip about washed up classic rock stars, I am somewhat surprised that he, The Real Music Observer, has not been a subject here on MPN. He is originally from Boston, MA, and used to work as a college radio DJ, but his family recently moved to Florida.

Out of all the innumerable videos he has done, at least 80% of his videos have been about Journey or Steve Perry in some shape or form. In fact, he at one time had a HUGE Twitter battle with Neal Schon regarding Neal’s tense and intense online argument regarding Cain (Frigga) and his/his wife’s activities and the sabotage of Arnel’s voice via the set list and who actually owns the JOURNEY/JRNY band brand…all of which eventually got him blocked from viewing Neal’s Twitter account. No surprise there because there are some here that got blocked from his account for trying to be the voice of reason. He supposedly broke the story that Steve Perry’s new manager, according to a very well-known musical source is/was Steven Jensen (of Direct Management Group), and that he (Jensen) was going around telling people that Steve’s album was finished and that they were planning a HUGE comeback. That video gained at least 35k views. However, a quick Google search did not bring that up and many went to look up Steven Jensen and found DMG website. While there are a few select artists listed: k.d. Lang, Adam Lambert, Katy Perry and 1 or 2 others…there is no Steve Perry to be found. It was found out that Steven Jensen is a friend of SP that is/was merely helping him out in some form.

He has and is still claiming that Steve Perry watches or at least has been shown his videos and was allegedly angry about the one where he speculates if Steve had vocal cord surgery or not surprise musicians, based on a supposed scar he (SP) appears to have from a close of when SP appeared onstage at the RRHOF.

So I am saying all this to say that there is enough blame to go around with the gossip wheel turning. He has blamed SP while he stirs and fans the flame of rumor with his videos. While I cannot say with any kind of certainty that he doesn’t know anything (because you never know who knows who), I can confidently say that he doesn’t know much (as he sometimes admits by saying it is all speculation).
Ok. I have said my piece about this video blogger gossip magazine (for now). Anyone else?

I've been wondering when someone was going to speak out on this guy. I tend to lean more towards the belief that the guy really doesn't know much of anything and might as well be speculation. In watching a handful of his Journey-related videos, he comes off as a recent bandwagon fan -- not to waste anyone's time, but check out his video discussing JSS, Neal's "Journey Through Time", etc. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but I'm surprised that the powers that be haven't put a kibosh on this guy for his lack of credibility or fanning the gossip flames of the band.

  7. Hello all.

We are moving from Wisconsin to Florida in 2 weeks. I had originally planned to cram 10 guitars into my Sebring convertible and let the movers transport my amps (2 solid-state, one BIG tube amp). Now I'm having second thoughts.

I considered renting a trailer, but it's expensive because I'll need to have a permanent hitch installed. I have thought about letting the movers take the guitars that have hard cases (I'll put them in boxes) except my Martin, and putting the gig bags in the car. That would mean only 5 guitars in the car, which is manageable.

For the amps, I'll have them boxed, and I'm guessing that I need to remove the tubes from the Music Man. Is there anything else that I need to do?

If anyone has experience with letting movers move their gear, I'd like to hear about it.

It is fantastic exercise for one's memory and dexterity, physical benefits.

One can be lifted away by the music and inspired to connect with others in an abstract creative group endeavor, spiritual benefits.

One can even think about it. I try not to think (in verbal terms - words and defined ideas) when I am playing.

I've met lots of wonderful and talented people sharing music, social benefits.

    I love it!!!!!

for more check out the article benefits of playing guitar

Hello. I've been self-taught for 4 years now but I have the opportunity to have lessons with a very experienced solo fingerstyle guitarist...who has asked me if I would like to do a standardized syllabus in the classical guitar style because of all the benefits it will bring to my guitar playing and learning now aside from crisp technique that learning classical guitar will bring...what are some of the other benefits to learning this style..it can't be a coincidence that all the best solo fingerstyle guitarists have studied classical extensively
