  1. Have been going through the demos and thinking of pulling the trigger for Standard. Wondering if I can use 1 account on both a Windows laptop and an Ipad, and if so, what would be the proper way of doing this. Would seem to me downloading off of Apple App store and paying there is wrong way to do this.
  2. Instead of dealing with needing to ensure internal organ is turned down, copy a single or split organ live set to a user page. In this new patch, turn on Master controler and set zones and midi channels, then go to external keyboard and under the part letter you are controlling the external, set it to external only. Save. The CC number for part volume is 12 for Part A. In B-3X enter 12 under master volume. Its best to choose a different Midi channel other than 1 in the zone and in the external.
  3. Voxfan, under Drive, there is Rotary A and Rotary B with a depth adjustment only, controls drive, no rate control for speed. Rotary B is a better B3 sounding Leslie. In Effects, there is a simple rotary option that is the same as Rotary A in the drive section. Effects does have a rate knob, and at rate 64, seems to be the default used in Drive. With Rotary Speed on high, it does sound better at a rate of about 30 to 35. The problem would be that rate is to slow when changing back to slow speed, not to even mention again that it is the weaker of the 2 rotary options. Overall, the H patches, for Hammond, is the weakest part of the board. Maybe used at a practice or on a 3 lowest drawbars and on slow rotary only song. If you have an Ipad, or Iphone, with interface built in so no worrying about audio out, you can map all the sliders and knobs to any CC control, and even separate lower and upper drawbar CC numbers. For any buttons, except for Rotary speed which is #9, it still uses Sysex, so you would need a translator like Keystage if you had to have the exact same buttons control what it says. An example for B3X, there are 18 non drawbar CC sliders and knobs and 2 foot pedal CC#2 f you don't want to go down the Keystage route to control Vib/Chr and Pec and the other midi controllers listed.
  4. I need a recommendation on which Ipad app would be best for my situation. The band calls songs on the fly and never plays the same way twice, so not looking for backing tracks, or time specific scenes. I want to build patches in the Ipad app that encompasses Ipad Apps like B-3x and Moog, and hardware keyboard sounds at the same time for splits and layers, and set Controller numbers, but also store patches depending on which keyboards are being used that gig, sometimes 1 out of 3, sometimes a bottom and top, with each board having different CC control numbers which 2 out of the 3 do not have the ability to change. Hope this makes sense. Thank you.
  5. Good afternoon. Havent posted in a while as my old account stopped working. I stopped by the Music Mill in Manchester NH yesterday, they actually have a pretty decent keyboard area. Was interested in YC or a CP, but I played this CK88 and really enjoyed it. Ive steered away from 88's because of the weight, but this is pretty light and costs less. The organs would be a problem. I have an electro 5D that could be a top board, but in small gigs, I could bring an Ipad. Havent had a Yamaha in a while, so I am unfamiliar with it's midi CC mapping. I can map out the B-3X with my Kurzweil, so the Yamaha CK88 would need to do the same or it's a no go. Looking at the midi implementation specs, it's hard to tell, so hopefully someone can chime in. Can the controllers be mapped to control the same functions in the B-3X? B-3X allows you to enter any control number on the ones it does have, and the CK manual shows CC numbers for A,B, and C. Hopefully this a all works.
