I'm thinking of getting one of these, but the near 2 grand price tag kind of hurts... What would the next step down be? I'm thinking the Studiologic SL88 Grand is next in line as far as controllers go.

I'm looking for an extremely portable keyboard stand that would give me the least amount of hassle taking on public transit. I'm thinking the K&M Baby Spider Pro could be an option, since seems that you can fold it down pretty compactly into a carrying bag (https://www.thomann.de/gr/km_18846_tragetasche_babyspider.htm). Just wondering if anyone has any other potentially even more portable options. I would be using a Mojo61 with the stand, so not much weight at all.

It doesn't buzz at lower volumes for me - only at high volumes (but the buzz starts at a level that's not so high that it's unreasonable). I'm guessing you did test the sample at a high volume, so in that case it definitely would be a defect with them. Just wanted to make sure that 1) I can confirm with store handling the return that this really is a defect since it doesn't happen with another pair and 2) this really is a defect and if I bought a new working pair this issue wouldn't show up again. I think this test was good enough, but if I can find another sample that is more egregious I'll let you know. Thanks so much for your help btw

Do you mind playing this tone at a high volume to see if your left speaker also buzzes? Mine buzzes pretty horribly when I play this note/timbre combination. If yours doesn't, then I know for sure that it is a defect with mine.

The right speaker having this issue with you, and no issue on the right of mine leads me to believe that this is a manufacturing defect. I may try to return these speakers for a new pair then, and hopefully this issue won't recur. Another option for me could be to just get a single iLoud MTM placed horizontally in the center of my setup instead of the two micro monitors, but I'm thinking that the complete set of micro monitors may be preferable in this situation.

Hey I'm just wondering if anyone has experience using the iLoud Micro Monitors to play sounds from their keyboards. I recently got a pair of these and they sound great, however, when playing a B3 or Bb3 or the same notes an octave above (B4, Bb4) at higher velocities/volumes the left speaker makes a very noticeable high pitched buzzing noise as if a piece of hardware within the speaker is resonating with the note. The is especially prominent when playing rhodes tones from my keyboard and from Keyscape. I also hear this buzzing occasionally when watching videos where the voices are in the same ranges. Has anyone experienced this before?

Didn't ask about that one, but from what I've seen in this thread I think there was mention of the keys feeling very light (so definitely not semi weighted).

Just curious, does the Mojo have audio over usb capability? If I connect an iPad through the USB port am I going to need a mixer to get the output from both the iPad and Mojo, or can it be routed through the output of the Mojo?

Just watched the Anderton's demo. Took the chance to ask about the key width here (should be the highlighted comment). Seems like Jack says the key widths are very similar to the Nord Electro's, wider than Yamaha's regular synth keys. Definitely puts the YC61 back into consideration for me beside the Mojo61 (I'm pretty torn between the two at the moment). Now I just have to try it for myself in store to make a final verdict...

Yeah, I really don't know what Yamaha is thinking with this. It has to be cost, but is it worth it? They lost me with this decision, that's for sure. If you had to pick between thinner synth keys vs regular organ key width, I feel like the choice would be rather obvious for the vast majority of players...I can't see anyone picking the thin keys given the choice. The inch of overall instrument length and 1 or 2 pounds of weight saved by having thinner keys is basically moot (especially more so when you remember that you are saving about 400 lbs on a regular organ).

From what I've heard in Mojo demos on youtube and such, to me it sounds like the closest replica a gospel B3 organ. With that said, if a normal church B3 can cut through a mix decently well, I would think that the Mojo could do the same. But even if this isn't the case, and cutting through a mix was a major problem, I'm thinking controlling the Hammond B-3X app through an iPad could remedy this. But I doubt it would get that severe though. (And in all honesty I think I'd be playing the rhodes patch slightly more than the organ patch on gigs anyway...)

Awesome, that basically settles it for me...probably gonna go all in then. Also another question to anyone who has one, what are the dimensions of the flat top panel? I can assume the length is the same length as the instrument itself, which is 36.3" according to the website, but anyone know the width? I just wanna know what kind of midi controller I can get away with without it falling off, although velcro could probably let me get away with a little more.

Well that's a damn shame then... Was looking forward to grabbing one. If Yamaha wanted to replicated an organ as close as possible, you'd think they'd at the very least match key size as well. On the bright side, hearing this made me look into some other options and it looks like a Crumar Mojo 61 paired with an iPad can do what the YC61 can do (and sound better in my opinion) at basically the same price. The added weight and lack of internal audio interface is kind of a bummer though.

Maybe I'm missing something, but from what I can tell based on that conversation is that you can use the Mojo 61 as a MIDI controller to an external source or have both manuals where the upper manual plays the Mojo sounds, while the lower manual acts as a MIDI controller for the external source. I just want to further clarify if it's possible to use the Mojo 61 as MIDI controller to an external source while also simultaneously playing the internal Mojo sounds using only the single upper manual.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can the Mojo 61 play its own internal sounds while simultaneously controlling another keyboard through the midi out port? If I could layer the Mojo's sound with an iPad that would basically cover everything I need. Also for those who have a backpack case for it (I saw a couple of people mention the Mono M80 case with straps on it), how heavy does it feel on the back? Would it be unwieldy if I had to take public transit with it?

So does that mean the YC61 key width is the same as the MODX7/MX61? I returned an MX61 because of the reduced key width, so this might be a dealbreaker for me if it is...

Anybody have an case suggestions for the CP73 that has backpack straps? I frequently have to carry the keyboard up and down flights of stairs where a wheeled case wouldn't help, so backpack straps would make my life a lot easier. I was thinking that this case (https://www.gatorcases.com/products/keyboard/pro-go-ultimate-keyboard-gig-bags/pro-go-keyboard/61-note-keybaord-gig-bag-g-pg-61/) might work. 42.5" x 17.5" x 7" for the case vs 42.75" x 14" x 5.6" for the CP73 though - a quarter inch longer than what the case supposedly holds. I'm thinking that the case might be able to tolerate this extra quarter inch, but that might be wishful thinking as I've never seen it in person.
