  1. Thanks for the quick reply, Ibarch. That’s disappointing. Roland still seems reluctant to open that door. It was the only reason I didn’t pick up the RD2000 which was even more disappointing as I love that interface.
  2. Sorry to bump this topic but great info on the RD88 which I’ve been monitoring for awhile. I have a question that I haven’t seen answered in my research so hopefully the RD88 owners here can help. I understand you can change the USB to Generic so that the RD88 can work with an iPad but does this mean it can serve as an audio/midi interface? In other words, if I connect an iPad, can the RD88 control apps as well as receive audio from them and pass that audio to its audio out jacks. I’m currently using an RD64 connected to an iConnectAudio4+ audio/midi interface. This gets me the midi control of apps but I have to use separate audio outs to hear the iPad sounds through my amp. I would like to do away with the iConnectAudio4+ if possible (one less item for gigs). My Korg Kronos can do this with a single USB cable so all my sounds both from the Kronos and iPad go through the Kronos output jacks. Can the RD88 do this? I hope I explained things well enough so you see my end goal. Thanks for any help/clarity you can provide.
  3. For me, as someone that loves Roland keybed PH04 and 05 feel but uses iPad instead of a Macbook with Mainstage for sounds in live performance, this adds class compliant usb. That is what really sets it appart from both the RD2000 and RD88 (which are not class compliant) for me. Main reason I didn’t pickup an RD2000 although I would die for its interface. I have an RD800 and RD64 both of which I love but RD800 is getting heavy and I really miss 88 keys on the RD64. All work with Apple Mainstage but not with iPad. Something like the RD08 will. I imagine at some point Roland may go class compliant usb with their flagship (have no idea why they haven’t accept maybe to lock you into only using their Cloud or Mainstage etc) but for now, if you use an iPad for things like Pianoteq, VB3, Audio Modeling horns and all the plethora of synth apps on iPad, this new board may be worth considering. I certainly has got my attention.
  4. This is an old post but in case others are looking at possibly using iMidiPatchbay iOS app, it has been compatible with iOS 11 (64 bit) since Oct 2017. We'll have to see how quickly it is verified for the upcoming iOS 13. I use it all the time for live performance and like it alot. Ideally, I would like it if the developer, Johannes, would combine or at least add some of MidiFlow's functionality to iMidiPatchbay but even as is it still solves a ton of issues I would have without the app. Btw, I use it with iConnectMIDI4 and iConnectAudio4 interfaces.
