Is everyone here familiar with the Kurzweil SP-6 FB page? Lots of good info there... https://www.facebook.com/groups/230605954173420/

pressing + and - together changes the character case when naming a patch

Did anyone else think that the sustain pedal that shipped with the SP-6 was particularly hard to press down- does it loosen up?

    1) thanks - i'll try to get some input to the developers. 2) According to the SP-6 FB page, this is a known issue already reported. Here's hoping they fix it in the next release.

Hi! Two questions: 1) has anyone found a shortcut to change the case of a character when naming a patch? 2) Has anyone been programming a multi and experienced the transpose value of a layer changing when you went to a different screen within the edit function? Thanks! /j

Well, I just ordered mine. Many thanks to Dave Weiser, to everyone here for their comments, and to Massachusetts for a sales tax-free weekend :-) Here's hoping I love mine as much as I did my loaner.

Thanks Coker - I'm currently between my loaner and my purchase (arrives next week) but I will try it.

What was keeping you from loving it?

What is your goto lead electric guitar patch? I don't see an obvious one in the SP6 set, and the PC3 set is a little daunting to audition - thanks!

Ok - I found that Coker - thanks. Also - I got some help on how to do it - after I walk through it I'll post again.

So on my PC2R, I'm able to take a single drum sound and spread it over several keys so I could play a bass progression with an identical drum hit on each note - I think the setting was "keymap = constant"- Can the SP-6 do this? Thanks!

Right - my current bag is like 5 lb - it -might- be a tad too small, but I'll find out soon (going to bring my bag when I mess with one on Friday)

yeah - the gator bag is nicely made but like 18 lb (the fusion is only 10 lb). My first try will be with my current (non-wheeled) bag and I'll see if that works - just thinking ahead :-)

Can anyone recommend a lightweight bag (probably with wheels) for the SP6? I found this on Amazon, but technically it's 14mm too short by depth, and 6mm by height... https://www.amazon.com/Fusion-F3-25-12-Wheels-Keyboard/dp/B003NX3A1W

Wait - I thought you couldn't load samples - was the PC3 set programs or samples or both?

I thought the variation was essentially a different, albeit quite similar, program or multi - just selectable using the variation button.

Hmmmm - a closer read of the manual indicates they just mention the Splits/Layers section twice - no stacking :-(

    SP6

Thanks Coker and Scott - Thanks for the mention of the DS88, but weight is a big issue for me and I'm pushing my limit on the SP-6 (also, I always lean toward keyboards where I contributed to the development ;-) ). If I really want to do deep editing I can use my K2500X - I was just curious because the SP-6 manual mentioned splits/multis in the Program section as well as the Multi section. Thanks!

    SP6

Ok - but I can have multiple sounds spread in a zone? (assuming they share all other parameters?) - otherwise, what does the Split/Layer in the program editing buy you?

    SP6

So there -is- program editing? Perhaps using the PC SW? Also - from the manual - it looks like, by using the Layer/Split page, each program can be (in K2500 terminology) a 4-zone setup, so using multi's you can build 16-zone setup? - am I right? Or what am I misunderstanding?

    SP6

one last one - I assume there's no user-loading of samples?
