    On my PC4-7 (does that come out to negative 3?), I found 200% to be pretty good.

    I'm pretty sure I've tried 200%, but I will certainly try again!  Thanks for the info!

    It's doable.  You will need to edit the effects chain.  On its MOD page (the effects chain's, not the patch's), select (typically) box 2 -> speed and assign a pedal, probably the soft pedal?, to it.  Save that version of the effects chain, and then use that saved chain on whatever patches you want.

    I'll look into that - could be less hassle than the toggle (or pressure!).

    Disagree with you on this issue; the software needs to be adjusted to accommodate the differing keybed used.  Now that being said even making a software adjustment might not be enough to accommodate a 'perfect' adjustment but there should be an improvement by making a software adjustment.

    I should call Kurzweil and discuss this - the Medini keybed, and the required AT setting vs the software setup.  If they have the same software routine as the PC3, a numerical setting may need to be changed for the Medini keybed.

  4. I have the same problem. It wasn't a problem on my PC3 (which died). I used pressure to control the Leslie speed. It worked very smoothly. That's nearly impossible on my PC4, even with the press S override, the lightest touch setting and max pressure. I've tried every combination - no dice.

    Just unboxed a PC4 and played around for an hour.

    My only immediate complaint is the aftertouch--it's so hard to engage, I doubt I'll ever use it. I found the "Pressure Map" and "Press S Override" settings--I don't suppose there's any other calibration I've missed?

  6. I play a Kurzweil PC4.  I like it in many ways, however I'm having a problem with midi data from the song files.  When I go into storage, it only gives the option to export as a .PC4 file.  It does not give me the option to convert to a .MID file, or even a .SNG file (as my old PC3 did).  So I gave up on this, and decided to simply play a song file through the midi usb into my computer DAW.  However, it will not send the midi events data through the usb.  To confirm this, I played a song live from the keyboard through the usb midi.  My DAW captures it with no problems.  To summarize, my computer will not recognize midi data from a song file being played on the PC4, but will accept the midi data as long as I'm playing live from the keyboard.  What's the deal?  I never, ever had this problem with my old PC3, which no longer works.  Do any of you have information on this that I apparently don't have?

  7. What is the procedure for sequencing on the PC4 using MULT as the record track.  I can only hear one layer when recording in MULT mode.  I need to hear all of them as I am recording.  This should help me use the MULT option as a songwriting/ arranging tool.  I can't get it to work.  I'm doing what the manual says to do.  There must be some detail, I'm not aware of.  Can someone help me?

    We oughta be able to use a flip-flop FUN, triggering at an AT pressure of 120 or greater.

    For starters, here's a flip-flop I created a few years ago:

    FUN Operation Input A Input B
    ======    =============   =======    =======
    FXFUN1    a - b           ON         FXFUN2
    FXFUN2    Sample b On a   Soft Pd    FXFUN1

    Then on the MOD page:

    Box     Param   Adjust   Source   Depth
    =====   =====   ======   ======   =====
    Box 2   Speed   Slow     FXFUN1   1

    I'm already off to bed, so I am just reposting old code; but I think if you replace FUN2's Soft Pd with Channel AT, and replace FUN1's ON with some absolute number between 0 and 1 (like .8, maybe), it might get you somewhere.  I think.

    Thanks Tom!  I've never tried programming the FUN settings, even on my old PC3.  I'll give it a try.

    That's a good tip, thank you! It's still pretty tough, but, yes, if I aim for the right spot it's better.

    Now my next problem is the expression pedal.... I tried the two I have on hand (Roland EV-5, Yamaha FC-7), and they both reach 128, but neither goes lower than 40-50ish. Other keyboards I've used have some kind of global pedal calibration menu, but I'm searched the manual and the menus and I'm not finding anything.

    I'm having a very hard time getting a suitable pressure setting on my PC4 to change the rotation speed in a multi with a KB3.  It was easy on my PC3.  I didn't have to mess with press S percentages.  There's not adequate info in the manual.

  10. I can't tell you about the Artis, since I play an original PC3. I can, however, relate to you than since I upgraded to windows 10, and downloaded the latest soundtower version, my PC3 is not recognized in the same way it used to be. Its so bad, I have given up on soundtower. Could it be a lack of support for windows 10? Also: I'm not sure whether or not Artis has jacks for more than one CC pedal. On my PC3, I rely fairly heavily on my setups, with two volume pedals (organ & piano), plus pressure set to legato on the organ channel to control the leslie speed.
