  1. Thanks, the Mini Tremor looks nice. The others seem overkill, though. I am sure I can order from their webpage and take the hit with exchange. I was lucky when I bought the CPS direct from you way back in June of 2015, as the Canadian dollar was much higher at the time. The exchange rate is always a consideration when shopping for synths and other sundry items in the U.S. Mark
  2. With my four keyboards I use, the MS-20K(it), it does not need the lows, the Sledge 2 does not really care either, but my Blofelds are missing something in the lows. I can not put a finger on it. Will look into the link you sent me, as I am in Canada, I hope shipping is not insane! As a synth player and not a keyboard player per se, I do not even know what the term AP (acoustic piano??????) means, but ask me about modulation matrix, and boolean operators on a Blofeld and I am all over it!
  3. Can someone recommend a nice 1/4" unbalanced input subwoofer for the Center Point Stereo 3? I have extensive testing between my standard stereo KC-150 L-R amps and the CPS3 and the only thing lacking on the CP3 is the low bass. I have no XLR or balanced in my rig and many subwoofers seem to be XLR, which is what I do not want. In a pinch I could use a XLR-1/4" converter cable. As you guys are in the CPS club, could you help a fellow member out? representing the 43rd latitude of Ontario!
  4. What range is the Bloom? I have my CPS, less than 3' away on a wall/floor when I practice in the garage. I take it I am too close? Granted my practice place is only 8'x 14', so space is at a premium!
  5. Aspen, I am proud to have ordered a CPS directly from you, and become one of the Canadian early adopters of your product. I have become an evangelist, espousing the benefits of MS stereo! Mark Pigott
  6. There seems to be some difference of opinion in regards to the SS3 vs other 3D sound speakers. IMHO, and as someone who uses wavetable synths, rather than organs or EP, or AP sounds. I can say I have unlearned traditional stereo and learned to exploit the 3D coolness that comes with the SS3 with synths such as the uQ, Blofeld and Sledge II.
  7. I just noticed the Behringer 1200 is XLR input and the CPS is 1/4" for the SUB OUT. Does this cause any issues?
  8. In regards to gain structure, I use the guideline of 70% gain in the synth itself. So for the JX-3P I set master volume to 7/10 and adjust the PG-200 programmer to taste per patch. On the Blofeld I set Master Volume to 90/127 (about 70%), and on most patches I set patch volume to 90/127. My Mackie mixer is set to Unity on both input and output per track faders, and the masters as set to unity. (see later) By the time it hits the CPS, I have all sorts of volume, and I adjust set the CPS master at 12 o'clock and will adjust the rom volume with a tweek of the masters out of the Mackie. Repeat after me: gain structure, gain structure, gain structure. lol
  9. Has anyone ran a hardware compressor post mixing board and pre Centre Point Stereo (Canadian spelling) for live work. My Blofelds and JX-3Ps can have some wild transients and I may delve into experimenting with this.
  10. As someone who plays synth and not keyboards such as organ or electric piano, but rather the Blofeld digital VA, I like to tweak my settings slightly differently. 1)Volume at 12 o'clock (as per recommended) 2)Side Speaker amount at 12 o'clock (as per recommended) 3)MF at Full 4) HF at Full. This really brings out the 3D effect of sound effects and alien jets sounds, and really adds punch to Wavetable manipulations! There is no other 3D amplifier that can touch the Centre Point Stereo amplifier. I think it should be called the CP3D though! Mark Pigott
  11. One suggestion on the CPS. Have the power switch above the inputs at the back, and not below the inputs. Makes it a bit tough to turn off and on with the input plugs in the way. Very minor point. Does not affect its awesome sound!
  12. What's the consensus on storing the CPS in winter conditions. Here in Southern Ontario the ambient temperature can get as low as -20 degrees Celcius (-2 F for others). So should the CPS be stored above a garage concrete floor with its cover? Do any of the users in wintery areas have any suggestions for winter usage, storage of the CPS? Thanks Mark Pigott
  13. ASPEN: Recording the CPS for Youtube. I know you use MS recording to create your Youtube videos. Do you invert the phase on the side signal after the fact, or do you use some sort of live phase inversion when you record to mp4 on the camera. I'd like to try my hand at MS recording my CPS and wonder if you have some tricks or hints. Thanks Mark Pigott Sarnia Ontario (Sarnia provides 1/2 of Canada's petrochemicals in a city of 77,000 - useless fact; lol)
  14. Has anyone tried mounting a CPS system upside down from the ceiling? This would still give the stereo effect, would it not? Mark Pigott
  15. I've had my CPS for a week now, and I am quite impressed with the spacious stereo surround sound. For keyboards such as the Blofeld, that can be programmed for stereo pans on the wavetables, for example, it is quite the treat. It even beefs up the oomph on older gear such as a JX-3P, as long as the stereo chorus is turned on. It was everything it was advertised, and more. Good show, CPS! Mark Pigott Sarnia, Ontario Canada (ehh)
  16. Three synths "playing" FX patches through the CPS unit. Recorded through the built in microphone of the Lumix FZ-1000 camera.
  17. I have one with the original PG-200 (it was my late wife's) and I bought a second one without the PG-200) in 2013. I use them as a 4 oscilator rig, by offsetting the ADSR etc on idenitcal patches. Really like them as one midi analog setup
  18. Moved the CPS down onto the concrete floor as suggested. It becomes a wall of stereo sound!! As I write all my Blofeld patches and I use stereo extensively in the programming. I said to myself "Holy Sh*t, this rocks!" I wonder how it will work on a porch, as this is where my outside gig is on the 18th of July? I guess I will find out then!
  19. Unpacked and playing with the Center Point Stereo system This is a small room of 8' x14'. Let me know your impressions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_VEfeMEKF0&feature=youtu.be Mark Pigott Sarnia, Ontario, Canada (eh)
  20. First post. Just ordered a Centre Point Stereo Box directly from CPS. Should be here in a week or less. My keyboards I will test it on: Roland JX-8P Roland JX-3P Waldorf Blofeld My "studio" is only 8' x14' and I will see if I can set up the CPS for such a small room. Will test with hard left-right patches on the Blofeld. Will report back when CPS box arrives. Mark Pigott
