This computer case should hit my doorstep today to replace my existing DAW case. I recently upgraded all the components in the DAW, but this was backordered.

That part in the video seems backwards to me.

 

I used to play it the opposite way, on 2 boards. What he is playing with his right hand, I'd play with my left on the lower board (D-E-A), fingered 5-4-2 which lets you thumb hit the D octave easily.

 

Same concept with the other part, just a D to Dsus4, your pinky is set for the octave F#.

You are completely off-base here. I really don't feel anything at the moment. I'm just really pissed off. I'd give a kidney not to go through this. It's all just so sad. But I mean, oh well, what are you going to do.

 

Nice! That is the truth. The thing I learned about the stages of grief as it relates to divorce, vs. death & dying, is your counterpart to the process.

 

One can't expect the other person to fall through the same stages at the same times, and even divorces with the best initial intentions of amicability, can go south very quickly.

 

I went through this in 2006. The initial discussion was, amical split, no lawyers, friends after ... by the time the 90 day wait period was over & the divorce was final, none of those things turned out.

 

My best advice is to keep your expectations very low, like below ground level, throughout the process & beyond.

 

One emotion not on that list is Fear. I close friend of mine, who initiated her divorce, hit that stage many months after the divorce was final and found herself begging (i.e. bargaining) her ex to take her back. It wasn't that she wanted the marriage back, it was the fear of going at it alone and when it hit her, it hit her hard.

+1 on Prof Longhair & the Blues Piano documentary with Clint Eastwood. some great moments in this, Brubeck & McShann playing that little duet towards the end just makes me smile every time I watch it.

Thanks Bob. Fun times, one of these days I am going to flip that thing over, I know it.

 

The SS replaced my Hartke KM100, which was my favorite amp for a while now and my little Fender Passport rig.

 

The sound, footprint & weight of the SS just makes it a no brainer to me.

 

Sk1 + SS = ~55lbs of pure playing pleasure. I feel very mobile these days, toss them in the car at a moments notice & roll. A far cry from lugging around a bunch of gear for a bar gig that still pays the same $50-$75 it did 25 years ago. Only if the money/venue is right will I be carrying multiple keyboards around & I'd still be using the SS for my stage monitor with a DI to FOH.

For anyone who hasn't heard this amp ... here is the SS3 easily cutting through a thick mix with 2 guitars, bass & tenor. The stage volume was pretty loud on the instruments & the drummer has a lighter touch, so fell back into the mix.

 

The SS3 is to my 7-8 o'clock on an ultimate amp stand, set a the 12's for volume & spread.

 

 

You can see it a little better here on this one, extra guitar player on this tune, so three guitars, bass, horn, drummer has a much heavier hand. This amp still has no trouble cutting through. I switch up from the B3 to a piano somewhere around the 6:00 mark, if you want to hear that sound. That patch was overly loud in the mix, have to adjust that. But, the tequila was flowing that night & I get a little stupid on some glisses, pay no mind to that.

Hello. My name is Doug White, 48 this year. I started this journey at the age of 8 with classical piano.

 

I often thank my parents for grounding me so much as a kid, there wasn't much to do but play that old Weber upright grand in the basement.

 

I was just starting high school when I got my first rig. A Rhodes Mark I 73 Stage & Crumar Performer ... I was off & running.

 

I have been through the gamut of equipment over the years, I am a tech geek of sorts. I feel so fortunate to have grown up during this explosion of tech gear for keyboard players ... from CV, to MIDI, to VSTs ... amazing leaps & bounds.

 

A recent transplant to San Diego county, from New Haven CT, I am just getting into the music scene here.
